Arkham City is a world action video game that incorporates elements of stealth and predator tactics. All in the gadgets previously obtained inside the first game can be found on the start of Arkham City (with the exception in the Ultra Batclaw, that is replaced with the regular Batclaw and Sonic Batarangs). Most ones have improved or new capabilities; for example, the Cryptographic Sequencer also can track signals, the line launcher now features a feature that enables Batman to flip over and launch another zipline perpendicularly across, switching directions, the handheld remote control Batarang now features a built-in brake and boost, and also the grappling gun is now able to provide while gliding to boost Batman further up into the air. Four additional gadgets are already revealed: smoke pellets to confuse armed enemies when spotted by them, the Remote Electrical Charge which is often a sniper-like taser gun employed to power generators and shock enemies, ice grenades used to freeze enemies making pathways through water, plus a balled rope for tying up enemies. The game incorporates more puzzle elements; using Batman's "Detective Mode", which highlights elements including enemy skeletons and clues on-screen, is utilized to perform forensic activities such as tracing the origin of the sniper round.
